Taipei Station: Welcome To Taiwan

Taipei Station

Want an idea of how Taiwan street food taste like? Then you should have a visit here located in Bugis Plus mall. Basically, Taipei Station sells a range of Taiwan’s popular street snacks such as Oyster Rice Vermicelli, Braised Pork Rice and Bubble tea. In addition, the all-time-favorite Crispy Chicken comes in original, cheese and wasabi flavors. In order to satisfy customers, their tasty treats are prepared with authentic recipes and spices specially sourced from Taiwan.

Service was mimicked after a street food stall where you order your food at the counter, make your payment and wait for your scrumptious food to be ready. Basically, there isn’t any waiter/waitress at your service nor menu or water being served. Seats were narrow and every food served comes in a take-away packaging just like a typical street food area, just that this is in the comfort of air conditioned area.

The food comes in Ala Carte and Set meal (Mains + Sides + Drinks). Mains are around $4.9 each and $3.5 for sides. Personally, I ordered the Oyster Vermicelli, Braised Pork Rice, Original Crispy Chicken, Fried Mushroom and Fried Sweet Potato…of course these were shared with a friend (Total was about $22).

It was my first time trying the Oyster Vermicelli. I like it as the gravy was thick enough and had a balanced proportion of vinegar which enhanced the eating experience. My personal favourite for that night was the sweet potato as the texture and moisture of the potato wasn’t lost through the deep frying process. On top of that, a dash of their seasoning (could probably be mainly MSG) boosted the sweetness in general!

Definitely did enjoy my food! Life’s simple pleasures!
