Yuan Wei Yong Tau Fu @ New Leaf Park Paradise

Yuan Wei Yong Tau Fu

@ New Leaf Park Paradise

This is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE stall for Yong Tau Fu (YTF) as it is prepared the Hakka way. Taste simply amazing and priced reasonably. It is located in a obscure area in this coffee shop beside Siglap Centre separated by a big drain. This is probably the “Best” coffee shop. Why? Because it contains 3 amazing stalls that serves amazing food at reasonable price!

Basically this is unlike the usual YTF which are soup based. They will fry the items till crispy and drizzle with a savory minced chicken sauce that is so yummy! If I’m not wrong, each piece cost only $0.50! This is usually paired with thick bee hoon dossed in the same type of sauce as the YTF.
There is also a popular YTF stall down the shop house that serves in the same style called Fu Lin Yong Tau Fu. However, taste is still better here than at Fu Lin and it’s cheaper! A brief history of this stall (Yuan Wei): The stall is a spin-off from the famous Fu-Lin Yong Tau Fu stall which previously occupied here. Heard that one or two of the workers took over the stall and re-named it as Yuan Wei. However, I am not too sure about the credibility of this source, but since it’s so similar in taste and style, I wouldn’t doubt it either.
Definitely a must try!
I also ordered Curry Pork dish from the Mixed Rice and Vegetable stall. I could taste the thick and creamy coconut base, simply SHIOK to the max! By night, this stall will be serving Tze Char and this was where I had my delicious Curry Fish.
Definitely a must try too!
